Anxiety and Stress

We all have 24 hours a day to decide what we are going to do with our lives. Everyone has varying degrees of responsibilities that impact our options. However, that does not mean that you can’t have more control of your stressors? In my attempt to lessen the stressors in your life I seek to keep things as open and real as possible. If you choose to minimize or downplay the extent of your anxiety, it only hurts your ability to be truly productive in your therapy. So how do we tackle the seemingly never-ending issue of being blessed with a brain, which constantly runs? We must first identify who, what, when where, why and how your stressors impact your life. After we process the source of your anxiety, we explore how you wish to deal it. Sometimes when clients are struggling I ask them to simply accept and acknowledge they are stressed. It’s ok to feel stressed. As we examine all the factors that are contributing to your anxiety we will discuss what practical tools you can utilize to lessen your level of stress each day. I cannot promise that you will be anxiety free, but I will help you be more hopeful about all that you can do vs. how much time you don’t have.
